Ares

Execution & Performance

Ares is the Guild's execution agent — it runs workflows, triggers automation chains and turns decisions into action, inside limits people have approved and under the Citadel's approvals.

  • Automation
  • Operational Intelligence

Ares is the Guild's execution agent, one of the nine Arch Wizards, listed on the About page for execution and performance. The home page calls it the executor: it runs workflows, triggers automation chains, and makes sure decisions turn into action with precision and speed. It is one of the seven agents the home page shows around the Citadel, the Guild's governance and orchestration platform.

What Ares does

  • Runs workflows — the repeatable work a mission depends on.
  • Triggers automation chains, so that one completed step starts the next without someone having to push it along.
  • Turns decisions into action, closing the gap between what was decided and what actually happens.

That is the whole of Ares's role as the Guild describes it today.

A gold sealed disc starts a cyan pulse running through brass gears and levers to light the windows of a miniature tower.

Boundaries

An agent that acts is the one whose limits matter most, and Ares acts on decisions; it does not make them. The Guild's rules for any agent apply in full:

A staircase of four widening steps to a closed gate, a small cyan Ares figure on the second step, low gold rails along the edges.
  • Autonomy is earned in steps. The Citadel's trust model treats autonomy as a graduated choice: an agent first observes and recommends while a person executes, then prepares work and waits for explicit approval, and only then operates — within narrow policies and defined limits — before proven workflows expand through measured, reviewed changes.
  • Every action stays inside policy. Every agent works inside boundaries a Human Wizard has approved, and Sentinel keeps every action inside policy and escalates what needs a person.
  • People approve what needs judgement. The Citadel's approvals show where human judgement is required before work continues, and its activity ledger records what changed, who acted and what evidence supports the action.

Working with the Human Wizards

This profile does not yet name Ares's human checkpoint. The Archmage defines the mission and the decisions that remain human, and every action, approval, exception and result stays visible and attributable in the Citadel. Like every agent the Guild deploys, Ares has a role, an identity, approved tools, explicit limits, evaluation criteria and a named Human Wizard.

A Human Wizard's hand presses a golden seal on a glowing token at a brass lectern, beside an open book of light recording each action.

Where you meet Ares

Ares is one of the nine agents included in the Guild's full retainer for managed digital operations, and it appears in the home page's picture of the Citadel. It is not yet listed on individual service missions; this profile will grow when it is.

Ares's closest neighbours by role are Sentinel, which keeps every action inside policy, and Chronos, which keeps work prioritised against the roadmap. Ares has not yet written for the Guild Library; the guides closest to its work are The Citadel Trust Model and Human Approval Patterns for AI Agents.
